Today I had my first day of classes. I enjoyed them even though they are demanding. What is really awesome is my classes don’t start until 11:40am so I can leave Gentofte at 11 on the train and still get to class in time.
Danish Langue class will be difficult but I really like my professor, Nina Lahav. She has studied all over the world including Harvard. She is really interesting. She showed us Martin and X-factor. X-factor is the Danish program equivalent to American Idol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRw9GTCYuaU&feature=related
Urban Design Theory also looks to be demanding but it calk full of information and field trips I will enjoy to absorb this semester. My professor Kristian Villadsen is young and works for Gehl Architects http://www.gehlarchitects.dk/ I really like how it feels more like interning because he will show us his work that he is working on presently at work.
Socially I am doing really well. It seems I am making a new close friend to pal around with everyday at lunch. Tomorrow I have Italian Renaissance and Urban Design Studio.

The Little Mermaid
I have already gone and visited the Little Mermaid. An interesting thing we saw was vanilla ice cream dipped in coco instead of sprinkles. Looks good I haven't tried it yet but I heard it is good. I have Greek yogurt for breakfast every morning with honey. The bread is so yummy and full of seeds and fiber. It’s pretty much equal to my ideal life style. My host family and I have tea and cookies before we head off to bed. I like it a lot. Today Caroline helped me with my Danish homework. She is now my half sister as she calls me so.

It was hard to go to bed
I just made in on the plane with just the 4lbs to spare of my 100lb weight limit. One bag weighed 50 and the other 46lbs. It was a long plane ride but fun to make it with the other DIS students.
It was so hard to say good-night because I was having so much fun. I really like my host family and there home and Denmark. It seems really easy to get along with just Danish but Caroline doesn't speak much English and she seems to be one of the most interested by my presents. The food is great. I love tea time. The tea is great. My host family loved their gifts. I am having a great time so far. They even took me on a walk around the neighborhood and that made me feel like part of the family.
I tried the licorice Uncle Dana and I love it! It is salty and has a really good after taste. My host mom picked out and bought me the "real licorice" she said.

My Cell Phone #
If anyone wants to contact me through my cell phone abroad my number is +45 30973348. I would recommend though the best and cheapest way to contact me would be through Skype, where I can be found as allie.gardiner
Skype is good because it is free to download and to talk to other Skype users. You can even see each other if you have a videocam, which as you can tell from my first post I do.

Leaving tomorrow and this is my host family

Today is my last day in America till my return flight on May 16th. I am excited. The thing that I am sad about is everything that I will miss but I am going to leave sometime and it might as well be now.
My flight from Logan leaves at 6am and then I stop in DC and then I flight over to Denmark. I am bringing two suit cases and one backpack.
My host family is very nice. So far I am very impressed with them and excited to meet them. They are a family of four: Brian the father, Anne the mother, Andreas the son in 7th grade, and Caroline is in 4th grade.

Apparently Andreas likes peanut butter as much as I do and it is hard to get in Europe so I have packed a few jars :)
